NuCapCure Project Reaches Halfway Point at Athens Progress Meeting
From 18–20 March 2026, partners of the EU-funded NuCapCure project gathered in Athens, Greece, for their second progress meeting, hosted by partner the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”. The meeting marked a key milestone as the project reached its halfway point, bringing together leading researchers in glioblastoma research, proton therapy, and neutron-based glioblastoma (GBM) treatment.
Over the course of three days, discussions went beyond standard progress updates. Partners shared insights into their current research, openly addressing challenges, highlighting recent advances, and exploring the steps needed to move forward. The sessions were characterized by active dialogue with questions, feedback, and problem-solving shaping each exchange.
The intensity of the discussions reflected both the complexity of the project and the commitment of the consortium. Conversations frequently continued outside the formal meeting setting, underscoring the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of NuCapCure and the strong engagement of its partners.
As NuCapCure enters the second half of the project, the Athens meeting provided an opportunity to revisit key milestones, refine objectives, and ensure alignment across all work packages. With a shared understanding of priorities and challenges, the consortium is well positioned to build on its progress and continue advancing innovative approaches in glioblastoma research.
